Why SAPP does not have any of its MPs appointed Deputy Ministers in the federal cabinet?
Why the PM did not appoint SAPP MPs? Because either the PM is sleeping or blind!
Or either he is still on honeymoon..."Bot Gee wind"
In addition to the judicial crisis of 1988, there are other problems to be addressed: the special status accorded to Islam as the official religion in a multi-religious nation like Malaysia
The elections of March 2008 are over and the results are out. The makkal shakti/people power have asserted themselves. I think at this time UMNO needs MCA, MIC, and Gerakan more than ever before. If MCA, MIC, and Gerakan abandon UMNO, then UMNO may have problems rising again. Similarly, if UMNO abandons MCA, MIC, and Gerakan, then MCA, MIC, and Gerakan would become history too. So UMNO, MCA, MIC, and Gerakan are interdependent. If they are interdependent, then they are interdependent. Interdependent is a good thing. How about the separate regiments in the armed forces which I have continuously written about? I think UMNO should take the initiative to form a separate IM-only regiment in the Malaysian armed forces. If UMNO takes the initiative, then it would be a credit to UMNO. If some other party takes the initiative, then it would not be a credit to UMNO. I think UMNO should make good on her promise of power-sharing by forming an IM-only regiment in the Malaysian armed forces. If UMNO does take the initiative to form an IM-only regiment, then it would be a part of UMNO legacy for ever. If UMNO wants to be remembered well, then she should take the initiative to have separate regiments in the Malaysian armed forces.
Malaysia’s national constitution has never been known for egalitarianism. Though Islam is the official religion in Malaysia’s constitution, the ground reality is that Malaysia is a multi-religious nation. The ground reality is the ground reality. Nothing can change the ground reality. Irrespective of Islam being the official religion in the national constitution of Malaysia, the Kadazan Malaysians do have a separate culture. Kadazan Malaysians should unite with their church groups and assert their diversity. If they do not assert their diversity, then they do not deserve diversity. Malaysia is not the nation for unity. Malaysia is the nation for diversity. Kadazan Malaysian are part of the bumiputra/indigenous population of Malaysia. Most Kadazan Malaysians are Christians. If Kadazan Malaysians are mostly Christians, then why does the federal constitution of Malaysia have Islam as the official religion? The non-Muslim population of Malaysia, who are almost half of the national population, deserve an answer.
Even the Malays were largely hinduized before the 15 century. There were early Indianized kingdoms such as Langkasuka, Sri Vijaya, and Majapahit. After the 15 century, the Malays converted to Islam. Today almost half of Malaysia’s population are non-Muslims. Besides, not all bumiputras are Muslims. Yet, Malaysia has Islam as official religion. Why? The non-Muslim population of Malaysia, who are almost half of the national population, deserve an answer.
In any case, there will be no such thing as blind loyalty to UMNO, or any political party. Only a fool will give blind loyalty. There is no such thing as we will sink or sail with UMNO. Voters cannot afford to give blind loyalty. UMNO should be put to the credibility test. We will wait and see.
In all fairness I would have to give credit to Mr.Anwar Ibrahim. By 20 March 2008 we know that Mr.Anwar Ibrahim and his party, the PKR, have made a come back. I would have forgotten Mr.Anwar Ibrahim, but he made a surprising political return. It is hard to forget someone who has a political presence. To find out more about him, please to go www.google.com and type the words ANWAR IBRAHIM. His website is www.anwaribrahim.com . He has not retired yet. Is Mr.Anwar Ibrahim the person to watch into the future? I do not know. We will wait and see how things go into the future.
You have good knowledge of Malaysia's history...bravo to you!
Please enlighten us more on your opinion.
I really like your comments...it is very refreshing!
The elections are over and the results are out. I guess the makkal shakti/people power have asserted themselves. I am surprised. But I am not the only one to be surprised. Many people are surprised. Makkal shakti/people power was used by Mahatma Gandhi to topple centuries of British rule. In Poland (in the 1980’s) the Polish workers overthrew the Communist dictatorship using people power/makkal shakti. In the Philippines, people power/makkal shakti was used to overthrow the Marcos government. In Malaysia in March 2008, makkal shakti/people power was used together with the ballot box to bring political change. It did not turn out the way I had predicted. Any way, many people are surprised. It is mind boggling.
I will continue to maintain that we have to find a solution to the Malay Regiment problem in Malaysia. If we have a Malay-only regiment called the Malay Regiment, then we should also have a Indian-only regiment called the Indian Regiment, and also a Chinese-only Regiment called the Chinese Regiment.
I will continue to maintain that the separate regiments way is the best way to manage Malaysia and bring about stability rapidly. I was born in Malaysia and therefore I do care about social stability in Malaysia. We have to find a way to continue the social stability in Malaysia. Malaysia is not Africa. Malaysia is Malaysia. We need to keep our social stability. We need to under go power-sharing too. I think the people in Malaysia have social stability expectations. We have three major races in Malaysia, the MM, the CM, and the IM. There are other minority groups too. The MM, the CM, and the IM should form the 3 pillars of stability in Malaysia. The MM should have the MM regiment, the CM should have a CM regiment, and the IM should have the IM regiment; and these 3 separate regiments will form the 3 pillars of social stability in Malaysia.
Since the 3 groups are diverse, what we would have between the 3 groups is room. This room is the space that the smaller minority groups need to use to perpetuate their respective cultures. For instance, the Christian Kadazans could use the room or space between the 3 diverse regiments to perpetuate their own culture. All the other minority groups too will use the space between the 3 separate regiments to perpetuate their own cultures. This is the best deal. Yes, I was born in Malaysia and I do care about social stability in Malaysia.
Suddenly if something happens and there is instability, the 3 regiments/ 3 pillars will remain unshaken and disciplined. The CM community will have faith in the CM pillar which is the CM regiment, the MM community will have faith in the MM regiment, and the IM community will have faith in the IM regiment. The CM regiment will stabilize the CM community, the IM regiment will stabilize the IM community, and the MM regiment will stabilize the MM community. Thus social stability will be restored quickly. This is the best deal. Therefore please try separate regiments.
The non-Muslim population of Malaysia, who are almost half of the national population, deserve an answer.
It is time for the Christian Bumiputras to find out whether it is possible for Christian Bumiputras to join the Malay Regiment. Why is the Malay Regiment exclusively for Malays? What is the purpose of the Malay Regiment? Is the purpose of the Malay Regiment to strengthen Malay and Islam in Malaysia? After 50 years of independence, the non-Muslim citizens of Malaysia have lived under the fear of the Malay Regiment. It is time to find a solution to the Malay regiment problem in Malaysia.
Yet, Malaysia has Islam as the official religion in the constitution. When a religion has constitutional political power, it goes against the equality of the other religions. Why? The non-Muslim population of Malaysia, who are almost half of the national population, deserve an answer. A special status for Islam in Malaysia is unacceptable.
I personally have nothing against my Malay brothers and sisters. Malays have been some of the kindest people I have met. There is a difference between Malay and Islam. Malay is a race, while Islam is a religion. A special status for Islam in Malaysia is unacceptable. We have to separate Malay from Islam. You do not have to be a Muslim to be a bumiputra; and not all bumiputras are Muslims. Before the 15 century, the Malays were largely Hinduized. Bahasa Malaysia is an Islamic language, while Bahasa Indonesia is a secular language. We have to make Bahasa Malaysia into a secular language, and Malaysia a secular nation. We have to separate religion from politics. Both Indonesia and India are republics. By now you would know that the non-Muslim citizens of Malaysia have shown a tremendous amount of patience and tolerance for Malaysia’s absurd national constitution.
In the Philippines, the Chinese and Filipinos socialize. In Thailand, the Chinese and Thais socialize. In Malaysia, the Chinese and Malays do not socialize adequately after having shared the same nation for more than a hundred years. Why? The problem in Malaysia is Islam, not Malays. Islam is the deterrent. Islam prevents Chinese from socializing with Malays; and I cannot be blunter in stating it. I am Hindu and I do not like Muslims too. I wished the Malays were anything but Muslims. Unfortunately, Malays are Muslims. We have to find a solution to this problem.
It is time for the Muslims to become more mature and stable. Muslims should learn to respect people of character, not liars. The real problem is that, and I say this without qualms, it is hard to find people of character among Muslims to serve as role models for other Muslims. Prophet Mohamed himself was a militant, illiterate, epileptic, polygynyous pedophile. Islam is pretty much a penis religion. The Muslims circumcise the penis under the mistaken belief that circumcision will help the male to enjoy coitus even more. The Muslim males are allowed to have up to four wives, but the Prophet Mohamed himself had up to 10 or 15 wives. Besides, Islam is one of the few religions that offer 72 virgins in heaven as a reward to martyrs. So, is the Islamic heaven a whore house? Further more, it is a lot easier for a Muslim male to divorce a female than for a Muslim female to divorce a male.
The world tries to remember some people and forget some people. The Austrians and Germans try to forget Adolf Hitler. The members of the former Soviet Union try to forget Stalin and Lenin. But the world tries to remember Mahatma Gandhi. He never carried a firearm, and he never commanded an army, but many schools –worldwide- continue to teach at least one sentence about Mahatma Gandhi. Would the world try to remember a pedophile like Prophet Mohamed? May be. I would not, but some people may try to remember a pedophile like Prophet Mohamed. Would you as a parent have problems to teach your children about Mahatma Gandhi? Probably not. Would you have problems to teach your children about a pedophile like Prophet Mohamed? You as a parent must be nuts if you teach your children to show reverence to any pedophile. Should schools be allowed to teach at least one sentence about a pedophile like Prophet Mohamed? You tell me.
I would not deny that all religions have flaws. We have to move beyond religion. We have to believe in ourselves.
I am not opposed to public assistance for the poor and the needy. At least as far as I am concerned, most of the poor in Malaysia are the bumiputras. Reservations and public assistance for the poor and the needy should continue on a non-racial and non-religious basis. There is no nation in this world that can claim to be a meritocracy.

Levelheaded, your history knowledge is incredible. Are you a teacher, professor or what?
What u said is true also.
We live in fear of the Malays in Malaysia.
Once a while, they will bring up racist remarks to champion their own race.
Religion will also be played.
If you are good, then there is no need for showup...eg. why send one person to space which cost millions of ringgit! Space taxi!

There is a difference between Malay and Islam. Malay is a race, while Islam is a religion. Islam emanates from the Arabs. Malays are South East Asians, not Arabs. I do care about the Malays because Malaysia is the nation of my birth. You should divide this world into successful people and unsuccessful people. My Malay brothers and sisters would be well advised to emulate the successful people, not unsuccessful people. Arabs are nothing in this world. If my Malay brothers and sisters want to take lessons, may I suggest that they take lessons from the G7 nations. Only a fool will emulate the unsuccessful people.
If we go by track record, then Arabs are nothing in this world. Arabs deserve an F grade. Do the Malays want to learn from A graders or F graders? If the Malays want to learn from F graders, then I wish them luck. Arabs may be remembered for introducing Islam, the penis religion into this world.
Malays should take pride in their South East Asian heritage, not look to Arabs to emulate from. If you learn from the wrong people, then you risk going the wrong way and being overtaken by others who have learned from the right people.

Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. I bet you have heard it before. Yes, we have to limit the power of government. This is why we have separation of powers. The government is divided into the judiciary, executive, and legislative. Merely dividing the powers of government is not enough. There is a price to pay if you want to live and preserve your democratic rights. The price is vigilance. It may be possible that the judiciary may have been subdued in the past by some politicians. It may be possible that politicians may have, either directly or indirectly, removed some judges from office. It may have led to erosion of confidence in the Judiciary. Ultimately, it is not the fault of the politicians or the judges. Ultimately, it is the fault of the citizens of Malaysia. The citizens of Malaysia are guilty of allowing the politicians to concentrate power. By 20 March 2008, we know that it is people power that caused the political tsunami in Malaysia. By 20 March 2008 we know that the number of seats won by the opposition parties in the Malaysian parliament have increased enormously. By 20 March 2008 we know that the ruling National Front (BN) no longer has a 2/3 majority in the Malaysian parliament. By 20 March 2008 we know that there may be an awakening among the Malaysian voters. Is this a new Malaysia?
It is people power that will ensure that there will never be concentration of power again. It is people power that will ensure that separation of powers through dividing the government into the judiciary, executive, and legislative will be enforced. Yes, the citizens of Malaysia are guilty of allowing the politicians to concentrate power. Politicians are not demi-gods. If you allow the politicians to concentrate power, they most certainly would. Please do vote. Please do vote wisely.
I personally have nothing against my Malay brothers and sisters. Malays have been some of the kindest people I have met. There is a difference between Malay and Islam. There have been Malay politicians in the past who wanted to achieve a Bangsa Malaysia/Malaysian Race. Malaysian Race may have something to do with racial integration and nation building. However, nobody knows how to achieve a Malaysian Race. I do know. Firstly, Malays have to give up Islam. Those Malays who want to leave Islam should be allowed to do so. If the Malays are sincere about integration, and if the Malays are sincere about nation building, then they would agree with me. The obstacle to integration is Islam. Hey, please read the writing on the wall. This is common sense. I have already explained how the Chinese integrate with the Thais and Filipinos. I have already explained how the Chinese and Malays do not integrate adequately. You should be able to figure it out. What have the Malays done about integration? Not much. Are the Malays sincerely concerned about nation building? The Malays probably want Islam-led integration, but I have already explained about Islam and Arabs. Islam is unpalatable to many people. Islam almost always uses political power and enforcement. If the Malays want to attract non-Malays to themselves, then they should give up Islam. So far Islam has acted as a repellent. If the Malays give up the repellent, then they would be able to attract the non-Malays. The problem is not the Malays, but Islam. Before the Malays reject my idea outright, I would hope that they sincerely ponder over it. Do the Malays want all the races to come together or not? If the Malays want all the races to come together, then they should be willing to give up Islam. I type this document because I care about Malaysia’s future.
Like to invite you "levelheaded" to comment on our SAPP Blog at sapphq.blogspot.com
Apparently, the Malaysian constitution puts Islam, Malay language, and Malay culture together in order to define a Malay person who is a citizen of Malaysia. That is, to be considered a Malay, you must be a Muslim, speak Malay, and accept the Malay culture.
However, changing faith is an inviolable human right. A Malay should be allowed to leave Islam and accept another faith if he wants to. In Malaysia, the constitution does not allow a Malay to leave Islam. There are, however, some Malays who have converted to Christianity secretly. They cannot live openly as Christians. Some of these secret Christian Malays have to leave Malaysia.
Sometimes, a Malay and non-Malay fall in love. They cannot get married if both of them do not become Muslims. So, the couple, I have read, have to leave Malaysia, and live else where. If the laws are changed and Malays are allowed to leave Islam and accept another faith, then the Christian Malays who hide in other countries can return to Malaysia.
The solution to the problem is to have a constitutional amendment to have two kinds of Malays: Muslim Malays and non-Muslim Malays. Changing faith is an inviolable human right. Let the Malays and not-Malays decide which faith they want to belong to. The constitution does allow for freedom of religion. If the constitution does allow for freedom of religion, then why is that a Malay cannot leave Islam and continue to be identified as a Malay?
In the March 2008 elections, it has been seen that the people have rejected race-based political parties. If UMNO does not reinvent itself and become non-racial and non-religious, then she would find it hard to rise again. Thus, UMNO would be well advised to lead in making a constitutional amendment in Parliament to have two kinds of Malays: Muslim Malays and non-Muslim Malays.
By May 2008 we know that UMNO is dependent on Sabah and Sarawak voters more than ever before. I hope the Sabah and Sarawak voters would ask for the cooperation of UMNO on this matter of religious conversion. Sabah and Sarawak have few race based political parties. Race based political parties were characteristic of Peninsular Malaysian politics until March 2008. It would not make sense for Sabah and Sarawak political parties to continue to cooperate with a race based political party like UMNO. Even rats flee a sinking ship. Would Sabah and Sarawak political parties be prepared to sink or sail with UMNO? It would be naïve of Sabah and Sarawak political parties to be prepared to sink or sail with UMNO. Sabah and Sarawak political parties should take care of themselves, instead of giving blind loyalty to UMNO. Within a few years, they would have another general election; and Sabah and Sarawak political parties should prepare for the future; and the future looks like non-racial and non-religious political parties are gaining ground. Do you see UMNO in the future? Does anybody see UMNO re-invent itself? The fate of UMNO continues to be debated. Some think it will not last another 60 days, others give it a maximum of 100 days, and still others give it a generous one year. Time will tell.
There is a difference between Malay and Islam. Malay is a race, while Islam is a religion. Malays are probably the single largest group in Malaysia. I would hope Malays continue to be well represented in all sectors. Malay supremacy/kekuatan Melayu is what I consider as Malay presence. It would be sad if Malay presence disappears in Malaysia. It would be unfair if Malay presence disappears in Malaysia. I could live will Malay representation/presence at all levels. But Malay representation should be differentiated with Islamic presence. Malay representation and Islamic representation are not the same. We have to separate Malay from Islam. There are different kinds of Malays. Not all Malays are Muslims, and the constitution of Malaysia should be amended to accept that. It would help to improve race relations and nation building in Malaysia. If the Malays are sincere of improving race relations and nation building, then they would agree with me. Yes, changing faith is an inviolable human right.
UMNO may want to learn a few lessons from Sabah and Sarawak where many political parties have open membership to all races and religions.
Raja Petra Kamarudin (RPK) has his own web site at http://www.malaysia-today.net/2008/. Apparently he posted something entitled “Let’s send the Altantunya murderers to hell”. The Malaysian Police responded by questioning him for two hours and then releasing him. I cannot claim that I know much about the incident. However, we need separation of powers in Malaysia. The Police and the Politicians must be separate so that the police can do their work independently. However, there may be a case of concentration of power whereby the politicians have influenced and directed the police. If there is concentration of power, then the police are no longer the police, but have transformed into the Gestapo. We do not want any Gestapo in Malaysia. Was RPK questioned by the police or Gestapo? If RPK favors freedom of expression, then I hope RPK continues his struggle and never gets intimidated by either the police or political police. I urge all the Malaysians to vigilantly follow how the RPK case transpires. RPK may soon be charged for sedition.
It is important that voters carefully follow the RPK case closely. On Election Day the voters can teach the politicians a lesson. Voters should use their votes to teach the politicians a lesson. Voting is the only way for the people to teach the politicians a lesson. Please do teach the politicians a lesson using your vote.
Wait a minute. May be the Monarch is the Number One and the Prime Minister is the Number Two. May be the Prime Minister is a nobody. Probably. In that case, if any issues need be addressed, may I suggest that you ignore the politicians and go straight to the monarchs. May be we do not need politicians at all.
The DAP member of Parliament Mr.Lim Kit Siang will present a bill in Parliament on 21, 22 or 23 May 2008. It will deal with Sabah. Mr.Lim states that , “The three-decade dream of Sabahans for a Royal Commission of Inquiry on illegal immigrants in the state will be realized tomorrow if the 24 Barisan Nasional Sabah MPs join the 82 Pakatan Rakyat MPs to support the amendment to the Motion of Thanks for the establishment of such a Royal Commission.” End of quote.
Sabahans will tell you that they have been mistreated by UMNO over the past few decades. We should stop subjugating others. As Hindus we are children of Mahatma Gandhi. As Hindus our role model is Mahatma Gandhi. I call upon MIC and all other component parties of Barisan Nasional to prove their moral character. I want the MIC to prove that they have morality. I want MIC to prove that they are not accomplice to subjugation. Mahatma Gandhi never ever tolerated the subjugation of one group by another. I want the MIC to prove that they are not co-conspirator to subjugation. All MP’s must vote in favor of Lim Kit Siang’s bill. If they vote against it, then when the next election comes, the voters will teach the politicians a lesson.
You, the readers, should contact your Members of Parliament (MP) and urge them to support Lim Kit Siang’s bill. It involves the future of Sabah. Thus the people who should vote correctly should be the Sabahans. The people who cannot afford to vote wrongly are the Sabahans. Are the Sabahan MP’s loyal to UMNO or Sabah? If the Sabahan MP’s are loyal to Sabah, then they should vote in the best interests of Sabah. We will wait and see. If the Sabahan MP’s vote wrongly, then they will continue to be subjugated, and in fact, deserve to be subjugated. If you do not assert your diversity, then you do not deserve diversity.
Actually, Sabahans will tell you that they have been conned by the Federal Government of Malaysia. Not quite. There is a need for Sabahans to precisely identify the problem. Barisan Nasional (BN) is a coalition of unequals, not equals. UMNO is the big brother of BN. UMNO serves only Muslim Malays, not Sabahans. Therefore, Sabahans must understand that they are not conned or misrepresented by the Federal Government, but by UMNO. UMNO is the enemy. The Federal Government is dominated by UMNO. The Prime Minister and most of the cabinet are from UMNO. Today, a rich Sabah has become a poor Sabah. There has to be an explanation. UMNO is a Malay-only political party and will continue to serve Muslim Malays.
By the way, Malaysian Prime Minister Mr.Badawi agreed to establish a department of non-Muslim affairs on 18/19 Dec 2007. Currently, the government of Malaysia has a Department of Religious Affairs, which is exclusively for Islam. Thus, we need a separate department of Non-Muslim Affairs so that the problems of non-Muslims can be addressed. I have not heard much about it since it was announced on 18/19 Dec.2007. Can some body kindly give me an update on what happened.
I would like to commend Malaysian Prime Minister Mr.Badawi for agreeing to establish a department of non-Muslim affairs on 18/19 Dec 2007. Mr.Badawi is a man of peace and kindness. Please do support Mr.Badawi. The establishment of a department of non-Muslim affairs will help the non-Muslim communities to take care of the problems of non-Muslims. Muslims already have a department of Islamic affairs, and therefore it is only fair that a department of non-Muslim affairs be established too.
We do not know if Prime Minister Badawi of Malaysia was serious or not serious when he agreed to consider establishing a department of non-Muslim Affairs. Please do ask Mr.Badawi to state clearly his intention. If Muslim Malaysians want to have a department of Islamic Affairs, then there is nothing the non-Muslim Malaysians can do about it because it has nothing to do with non-Muslim Malaysians. The non-Muslim Malaysians can, however, request for a department of non-Muslim Affairs.
Please do inform all the non-Muslim communities immediately to monitor this matter closely. We have to maintain a vigil. We have to pray for it. If a department of non-Muslim affairs is established, the Muslims and non-Muslims can co-exist in peace and harmony. All Muslim issues can be taken care of by the department of Islamic affairs, while all the non-Muslim issues can be handled by the department of non-Muslim affairs; and this is the way to co-exist in peace and harmony.
By June 2008 we know that the Sabah and Sarawak caucus inside the Malaysian Parliament has political leverage. Please do use your political leverage. I hope MIC and MCA would be supportive of the Sabah and Sarawak caucus in the Malaysian Parliament.
Please do contact your local politician to find out more about establishing a department of non-Muslim Affairs.
Thank you.
Please support the abolishment of the Internal Security Act (ISA). If you go to www.google.com and type the words INTERNAL SECURITY ACT MALAYSIA, you would be able to read up more about it. You could also go to www.youtube.com and type the words INTERNAL SECURITY ACT MALAYSIA, and be able to see and learn more.
The UMNO government has used the ISA numerous times. I want to make it clear that it is not the Barisan Nasional (BN) government, but the UMNO government. It is not the government, but UMNO. Barisan Nasional is a coalition of unequals, not equals. UMNO is the big brother in BN. Therefore UMNO must be held responsible; and more importantly, UMNO must not be allowed to hide behind the BN banner. UMNO is the enemy, not BN. Thus, each time the ISA is used, the responsibility lays squarely on UMNO.

In the 2004 elections (11th General Election), the voters gave good support to Mr.Abdullah Badawi. But reforms did not come. Why? Probably because UMNO had done well in the elections. If UMNO had done well in the elections, then the election results tell UMNO that the voters are satisfied with the status quo. If the voters are satisfied with UMNO, then no reforms are necessary. In the 2008 elections (12th General Elections), UMNO did not do well, but she managed to win. UMNO did lose the 2/3 majority in the Parliament, but she did win, nevertheless. Will UMNO undertake reforms now? I would not be surprise if she did not. Why should she? UMNO is still the winner in the elections; and she can plan to rise and may even succeed to rise again. So, as long as she wins, she will never undertake the reforms. So, how do the voters get the reforms that they need? The voters will get the reforms when UMNO is completely defeated in the 13th General Elections. If UMNO gets zero seats in the next elections (13th General Elections), then some other party would have to rule Malaysia. Let us call it Party B. If UMNO is completely defeated in the next elections (13th General Elections), then Party B would rule Malaysia. Would Party B undertake reforms? If Party B does not undertake reforms, then voters would know what to do.

Many decades ago, there was a time when if you wore long pants and shirt, you would be considered a traitor by the Muslim Malays. Today, Malaysia, the country of my birth, is on the verge of becoming a developed nation. Unfortunately, the Malays do not credit the non-Malays adequately for their contribution to Malaysia’s growth and development. I, personally, have helped to build a hydro-electric dam in Perak, which will out live me. It was in the early 1980’s. The dam will continue to give out electricity to many generations to come. The photographs I took of the dam building continue to be my pride and joy. Like all construction industry, some workers died. Yes, I have served Malaysia in my own way. I am almost inclined to call the dam, my dam. Yes, it is my dam. It’s my gift to Malaysia. Despite that, I never asked for first class citizenship status. I only asked for religious equality. I only asked for changing faith is an inviolable human right. Some Malays feel that since they gave citizenship to non-Malays, the non-Malays must be willing to accept second-class status. My position is that, I am willing to accept second or whatever class status provided we separate Malay from Islam. We must be allowed to espouse secularism and liberalism. We have to recognize secularism and liberalism as another faith. Islam has no right to have a special status in Malaysia. No religion has the right to use political power and enforcement. Religions no longer have a monopoly over truth and knowledge. Changing faith is an inviolable human right.
It is pretty obvious that we have to increase the bi-racial population of Malaysia in order to stabilize the nation. Increasing the bi-racial population has nothing to do with political power. However, the politicians can remove obstacles to increase the bi-racial population. The obstacle is the special status for Islam in Malaysia. If Muslims and non-Muslims want to marry, then both have to convert to Islam or leave the country. This is the obstacle. If Muslim Malaysians are allowed to leave Islam, then there may be more marriages between Muslims and non-Muslims. Changing faith is an inviolable human right. If we support changing faith is an inviolable human right, then we are supporting Bangsa Malaysia.
In addition there is another matter to deal with. We do have, in Malaysia, a Department of Religious Affairs, but it is exclusively for Islam. Islam has no right to have a special status in Malaysia. To counterbalance the Department of Islamic Affairs, we now need a Department of non-Muslim Affairs. The Islamic issues can be taken care of by the Department of Religious Affairs, while the Department of non-Muslim Affairs will take care of issues regarding non-Muslims. Then, both Muslims and non-Muslims can co-exist. You see, I never asked for first class status. I only asked for religious equality.

After reading your writing, I notice that you have issues regarding being a true Malaysians. You say a lots on being a truly Malaysia, with ideas that ends up simply to disturb the peace and harmony that we have live together. ARE WE AT WAR??? No?? DO WE THREAT OTHERS BADLY???... NO?? I'm a Malay by the way.. I respect every Indians and Chinese in these country... Even if they are not Bumis or Muslims... Why??? BECAUSE I BELIEVE IN THE SYSTEMS.... If you dont happy with it... Dont be a Malaysian then...
TRUE MALAYSIANS..
To anonymous,
You stated "If you dont happy with it... Dont be a Malaysian then..."
You should state "If you are not happy with it, then please do vote for the opposition political parties". We do hold elections in Malaysia regualrly; and many people do vote for the opposition political parties. People do have the right to dissent and vote for the opposition.
Thank you.
There is a difference between UMNO and Barisan Nasional. I want to make it clear that it is not the Barisan Nasional (BN) government, but the UMNO government. It is not the government, but UMNO. Therefore UMNO must be held responsible; and more importantly, UMNO must not be allowed to hide behind the BN banner. UMNO is the enemy, not BN.
I have come to the conclusion that the easy solution is to completely defeat UMNO in the next elections.
If UMNO is completely defeated in the next elections (13th General Elections), then Party B would rule Malaysia. Would Party B undertake reforms? If Party B does not undertake reforms, then voters would know what to do.
So, the next step for Malaysians is to completely defeat UMNO in the next elections.
I fail to understand the Malay mindset. Many decades ago, the Muslim Malays were mostly sarong-clad; and at that time, when any Muslim Malay broke ranks and wore long pants and shirt, he would be considered pro-Western and thus a traitor by the Muslim Malay community. Later on, even if you ate burgers and hot dogs, you risk being branded pro-Western and a traitor. I like variety. Variety is the spice of life. I like to eat different kinds of foods. UMNO has managed Malaysia based on the Muslim Malay mindset. We urgently need more secular and liberal Malays.
All religious scriptures have things that they are proud of on one hand, and things that they conceal because they are ashamed of on the other hand. Generally, human beings do not admit their mistakes and religions are no exception. Religions no longer have a monopoly over truth and knowledge. Increasingly, we have to rely on contemporary wisdom.
I believe that it is a changing world. I assure you that we have a million new things yet to learn.
Yes, having sincere Sabahans ruling Sabah for Sabah is another way. Some call it a third force. The third force will need unity from Sabahans. Unity. Unity.Unity.
The below is a copy and paste from http://hsudarren.wordpress.com/
A third force
There is no smoke without fire. Rumours have been abound since MArch 8 that Sabahan parties may quit BN and join the opposition. As with most rumours in Malaysia, this has turned out to be not just speculation with the announcement of SAPP that it would move a vote of no confidence against Prime MInister AAB.
In the light of this announcement, BN would have no choice but to kick SAPP out of BN. Out of the 14 component parties, there would be 13 left.
There are also rumours that more than 10 others MPs would quit BN, either with their parties or individually. Will these turn out to be true also? After SAPP, I would not discount anything.
But politically, this group of more than 10 MPs (10 to 18 as rpeorted in Chinese Malaysiakini) would be more effective to help the people of Sabah, if they can remain as independents , without joining Pakatan.
Unless of course, they think for their own self interest, and that by joining Pakatan and bringing down BN governemnt, they would be rewarded with Ministerial positions and so on… And that would mean the politics of patronage, which we voters have been trying so hard to get rid of, may still be with us even with a change of government.
If this group can remain as independents, then they will hold the trump card, and can in fact force BN in general and UMNO in particular to change. They could demand for better govenrnace; they could ask the government to accelerate the setting up of judicial commission, the formation of which is facing some resistance as some in UMNO would not want this to happen; they could also ask for an completely independent Anti Corruption COmmission.
In a nutshell, these people could play leverage to get BN to return to the people.
By staying out of Pakatan, they could still help form a new government if UMNO does not change and if Pakatan can get enough MPs to leave BN. Once Pakatan forms a minority government, the leverage to get Pakatan deliver what it has promised will be much greater if this group stays out of Pakatan. If Pakatan does not deliver, this group can again exert its independence and vote Pakatan out , too.
When there is a 2 party system with almost equal strength, a small third independent force will be much more effective if it remains outside both the big brothers. That is what I hope will happen and this is what I have advocating.

I'm back. As I recall that you have mentioned about ( If you are not happy with it, then please do vote for the opposition political parties". We do hold elections in Malaysia regualrly; and many people do vote for the opposition political parties. People do have the right to dissent and vote for the opposition.)
I believe that is true... because it is the way of the system works. You can choose whoever you want to represent you either the BN or the opposition party. However, based on your lengthly discussion on Malay and other political issues, in my opinions, you are trying to exaggerate how unfair the situation it is in Malaysia. If you really understand the history of our beloved country, Malaysia is not built in one day, nor it is built with only Malays. But, it is based on harmony and unity among us. Let us be either Malay, Chinese, Indian, Kadazan, Iban , Bidayoh and all, Without us being unite, there will be no Malaysia, and we might be under the rule of British empire for now.. For politics and voting, vote whoever you want to vote as our country is a free country.. but of course, our freedom must be a freedom with dignity, and hold whatever believes you want to hold as we Malaysian can choose whatever religion you want to be. In Muslim mindset, you can belief in whatever you want to belief as in the Koran said " There is no forceful act on whatever believe you want to hold". For your statement on UMNO, well, you should understand that UMNO represent the majority of Malays, which with MIC and MCA, strive for the independence of Malaysia, the beloved country that we live in harmony. Sometimes, personally, I myself wonders are you really a Malaysian?? No offence, just using my freedom to give opinions.

( YOUR COMMENT ON ISLAM AND THE PROPHET)
Dear sir, again I quote your word (It is time for the Muslims to become more mature and stable. Further more, it is a lot easier for a Muslim male to divorce a female than for a Muslim female to divorce a male.)
I'm not sure wheter you are muslims, buddhist, christians or hindu, but let me give a bit of my opinion on what you have said. Yes The Prophet Mohamed is an illitirate person, which means that he must not the person that create Islam.. How can a stupid person create Islam. Islam is a gift to us from God (Allah), which also previously present us with Taurah (Jews), Zabur (not sure), and the Bible( Christians). But the propet Mohamed was chosen as it is the will of God. Secondly, he did fight in protecting Islam, so I would say that he is a soldier, not a militant. In Islamic history, it is mentioned that even the Prophet had order the muslims not to kill man, woman and children. As a pedophile?? can you tell me how old her wife was?? As a polygynous?? We muslim can marry more that one, if and only if we can afford to be fair in our daily life. For the prophet having 15 wives, you need to undertand that it is not 15 wife at the same time, and then again, most of it mainly to cover the lost of several muslim soldiers during the war protecting muslim. You can ask religous teacher (Ustaz) in that matter. I dont want to preach, but it is unfair to talk about Islam with so much negativity. I'm not going to talk about Buddisht, Christians or Hinduism, as I respect all religions in this world. About Martyr's having 72 virgins in heaven, well that what you get (IF AND ONLY IF) you go to heaven.. It take a struggle to get there, even for a MUSLIM you know... It is EVEN worst if you go to HELL!!!!
No offence... just to straight things up.. one at a time...
Dear LEVELHEADED...
Today, I'm quoting your word (I will continue to maintain that we have to find a solution to the Malay Regiment problem in Malaysia.
The MM should have the MM regiment, the CM should have a CM regiment, and the IM should have the IM regiment; and these 3 separate regiments will form the 3 pillars of social stability in Malaysia.)
Personally, I'm not a soldier, but I am a patriot. For your issue of the Malay Regiment, my opinion is, without a Malay Regiment today, our beloved coutry will be doomed, with threats such as the comunist, the 'Ganyang Indonesia' by Sukarno, the KMM, and other unwanted element of threats to our beloved country Malaysia. I'm not sure if you aware this, but other race such as Chinese, Indian, Kadazan, Iban, Murut, and even Malay themselves can serve in a unit known as Regiment Renjer Diraja. Now then, it means that everyone can serve their country!!. The Malay regiment has been the backbone defence of our country, and surely, with it, we are able to maintain the stability of our country. Your suggestion of three diffrent regiment that consist of only Malay regiment, Chinese at one side, and Indian at the other side is well said, but again, what happen if all of them were influenced by political issues, which cause hatreat, anger and instability in our country??. Remember, by dividing the nation, we will crumble...
Dear LEVELHEADED....
(YOUR PROPOSAL THAT MALAY SHOULD GIVE UP ISLAM!!)
Dear Sir, again I quote your word
(If we go by track record, then Arabs are nothing in this world. Arabs deserve an F grade. Do the Malays want to learn from A graders or F graders? If the Malays want to learn from F graders, then I wish them luck. Arabs may be remembered for introducing Islam, the penis religion, into this world. Malays should take pride in their South East Asian heritage, not look to Arabs to emulate from. If you learn from the wrong people, then you risk going the wrong way and being overtaken by others who have learned from the right people. I type this document because I care about Malaysia’s future.)
Dear LEVELHEADED...
If I'm not a GOOD MUSLIM... I would have called you DICKHEAD by now... BUT THEN AGAIN , Our beloved Prophet did mentioned thousand years ago in his word (Sabda RAsulullah) "You should not be rude to your fellow non-muslim, as they might end up being a good muslim, and even better then you". I strongly urge that everyone has the right to CHOOSE whatever religion they want to be, but again, in ISLAM, we are taught that once you convert into ISLAM, you cannot turn back. For the main reason is that, we believe, that you cannot play around, when practising a religion. I guest this is the same with other religion? Don't you?. What if I'm going to tell you to go to hell with your religion (Hindu/Christian/Buddha) would'nt you be angry????... Of course you are... In ISLAM, when Muslim converts into other religion (deserts ISLAM, become an apostate), they will have three chances of being adviced by other fellow MUSLIM. After that, If he or she resists, then according to Islam, he or she can be executed, in order to maintain the integrity of the religion. The only solution, is of course, if you are lucky, is to run away, live a while and if died without being a MUSLIM, then face the wrath of ALLAH... in HELL... That sir, is what we believe. Again, Islam always embrace unity, mixing together Muslims and Non-Muslims, and of course, If you live in a Muslim country, you need to live and respect the law that is stated upon you, as vice versa for Muslim living in Non-Muslim country... It is simple and harmony.. CHOOSE...... what ever you believe... It is well said in our system... in our beloved country Malaysia... What else do you want???
No offence... just to straight things up.. one at a time...

Anonymous says that, “You can ask religous teacher (Ustaz) in that matter.” Anonymous, my advise to you is that you never ask a Ustaz. You have been listening too much to all the Ustazes. If you want to learn about Islam, never ask a Muslim. If you want to know about Hinduism, never ask a Hindu. If you want to know about Christianity, never ask a Christian. Since you have relied on Ustazes as your source, it pretty much negates everything you have stated above. You have to start all over again; you just have to grow up and get yourself a good secular and liberal education. There must be personal investigation of the truth. Try www.youtube.com. The important thing is the word CHANGE. Religion is not permanent. We have to change with the times. Prophet Mohamed’s Islam was meant for desert nomads of ancient times.
I shall start with the Islamic scriptures. Surah Al-Muminun 5-6 clearly states that there is no blame for having sexual relations with your wife or slaves. Yes, the Islamic scriptures does allow for sex outside marriage, but only with captive women. If you go to www.youtube.com and type the words ISLAM SEX or ISLAM SLAVERY, you would see and learn more. In August 2007 the Islamic Republic of Mauritania finally outlawed slavery; and she outlawed slavery because of international pressure, mostly from Western nations. There are parts of North Africa where Arabs still own Black slaves, even today. Likewise, in India, where slavery is outlawed, there are still slaves, even today.
Hinduism is no better. On the walls of some Hindu temples in India the carvings depict several sex acts, every thing from man and man, to man and animal, to man and woman. I am sure if you were authoritative about Hindu scriptures, you would easily find more. If you go to www.youtube.com and type the words HINDU SEX or INDIA SLAVERY, you would see and learn more.
It does not take too long before you figure out that all these things are done by males. If females wrote the religious scriptures, then the scriptures would be very different.
The point to remember is that from now on, females should play a greater role in this world.
None of us can blame ourselves for how the religious scriptures have been written. The scriptures were written a long time ago. It is a different world now. We have to keep learning new things. I assure you that there are a million new things we have to learn.
Undoubtedly, we live in a competitive world. We have to respond to competition. We have to keep improving. We have to keep learning. It is unending. We are primates. As homo sapiens sapiens, competition has been shaping and reshaping us. We have to grow and keep learning. No religion in this world can be applied permanently. We cannot be rooted to any religion permanently. We cannot base our lives on scriptures that were written a long time ago. The so called prophets of the past are no match to us. We have to believe in ourselves. We have to keep growing. We have to keep changing. Arabs are nothing in this world. Arabs, most certainly, are not the most successful people in the world. My Malay brothers and sisters have nothing, whatsoever, to learn from the Stone Age mentality Arabs. I am certainly not the first person to make negative remarks about Arabs. Christianity, too, is impractical. Christianity, like the communists, supports a property-less society; and there is absolutely no divorce in Christianity. Hindus have to improve too. The Hindu scriptures have never been known for egalitarianism. Try a good liberal and secular education. Religions no longer have a monopoly over truth and knowledge. Religions should stop using political power and enforcement. Please do vote for politicians who support personal freedom. We have to believe in ourselves.
We have to keep learning new things. I assure you that there are a million new things we have yet to learn.
On 24 July 2008, the US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has clearly stated that she would continue to speak out on human rights and political rights cases in Malaysia. I am glad she has made a clear stand. I must commend her. This is what I expect from USA. In 1492 Christopher Columbus lands in the Bahamas, discovering the Americas. In 1620 the Pilgrims landed on the east coast of USA and decided that they would establish a community that values freedom. The Pilgrims were fleeing religious persecution in England. The Pilgrims were the first to celebrate thanksgiving in what is known today as USA; thanksgiving continues to be observed to this day in USA by eating a turkey meal. Later in 1776 George Washington started the American War of independence. It would be untrue to state that everybody in USA was free at that time: African Americans were enslaved and women could not vote until 1920. USA has come a long way since then. In 1861, there was the civil war over slavery and in 1863 the Emancipation Proclamation was made. By 1919 the Nineteenth Amendment gave women the right to vote. In 1954 Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka, Kans.: Landmark Supreme Court decision the court ruled that racial segregation in schools as unconstitutional. Yes, USA has come a long way. There is no going back to the USA of yesteryears. We have to move forward. Yes, I would like to commend the US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice because she has clearly stated that she would continue to speak out on human rights and political rights cases in Malaysia. Malaysia may have lessons to learn from the American experience.
It is not about USA interfering in the internal or external matters of another nation. The goal of USA should be to ensure freedom for herself. In order to ensure freedom for herself, the USA should continue to promote freedom world wide. If the world falls under dictatorships, then one day USA would remain as the only nation with freedom in this planet. This would be a dangerous phenomenon because before long USA too would succumb to a dictatorship. Thus it is in the best interests of USA to continue to promote freedom, multi party political system, one person one vote, and an independent judiciary world wide; and the USA should be unapologetic.
Many nations have lessons to learn from the American experience. While USA outlawed slavery in 1863, only in August 2007 did the Islamic Republic of Mauritania finally outlaw slavery; and she outlawed slavery because of international pressure, mostly from Western nations. There are parts of North Africa where Arabs still own Black slaves, even today. Likewise, in India, where slavery is outlawed, there are still slaves, even today. Yes, many nations have a lot to learn from the American experience. Likewise, there will be no free ride for USA too; she has to live up to the expectations of those who see USA as the champion of liberal values. By year 2008, the Cold War is pretty much over and it is time for USA to champion other causes and make a stand on religion. As regards to religion, may I suggest that USA champion changing faith as an inviolable human right. I would hope that the President and Congress of USA compile a list of nations that do not support changing faith as an inviolable human right. The USA should be friendlier with nations that support changing faith as an inviolable human right, and less friendly with nations that do not support changing faith as an inviolable human right. Thank you.

Dear Levelheaded... haha.. I don't think USA is the best freedom fighter in the world....... They will use the "freedom" word when come to attack other countries that do not correspond with their political views..... The USA motto is only ITS EITHER BEING WITH THEM OR BE THE ENEMY.... HAH.. Nice try... To tell you the truth, even freedom has its boundary... And in the ends, you will stay within that boundary... regardless what race you are.. and what believe that you hold... Nice try.... In fact.. I believe that every freedom will always be based on religion guidance... which at the end... provide a solution for living in harmony... I would say that would be the best Human Right Freedom of all... If you fell that USA is that good.. try stay in US for looong while... I DID!!!! And they are not that FREE after all... :)
And please.... Dont ask me to see and read about this in YOUTUBE... You should already know what FREEDOM means in YOUTUBE anyway haha...

You can believe that freedom comes from religious guidance provided you support changing faith as an inviolable human right. If you do not support changing faith as an inviolable human right, then you are the enemy.
If USA does not support changing faith as an inviolable human right, then please do not support USA.

You can base your life on religious guidance provided you support changing faith as an inviolable human right. If you do not support changing faith as an inviolable human right, then you are the enemy.
You can be an atheist provided you support changing faith as an inviolable human right. If you do not support changing faith as an inviolable human right, then you are the enemy.
In addition you must also support a multi-party political system, one person one vote, and an independent judiciary; and if you do not support it, then you are the enemy.
In the old days, the fascists and communists were the enemies. They were all dictatorial ideologies. We defeated them. We did not defeat fascist dictators and communist dictators in order to submit to another kind of dictatorship. We defeated dictatorships in order to support a multi party political system, one person one vote, and an independent judiciary. We defeated dictatorships in order to support changing faith as an inviolable human right.
Please do try not to make yourself into the enemy. Yes, there are friends and enemies; and there’s not much in between. If you are the friend, then you are not the enemy; and if you are the enemy, then you are not the friend. Please do try not to make yourself into the enemy. Making yourself into the enemy may not be the best thing to do.

My dear levelheaded....
You can believe in whatever religion you want to as long as you UNDERSTAND THE HISTORY AND ROOTS OF THAT RELIGION.... SUPPORTING ANYTHING WITHOUT UNDERSTANDING ITS EFFECT TO YOUR LIFE ONLY MAKES YOU THE ULTIMATE ENEMY....
You can believe that freedom comes from religious guidance provided you UNDERSTAND THE REASON BEHIND THE GUIDANCE....... SUPPORTING THE REASONS BLINDLY WITHOUT UNDERSTANDING ITS EFFECT TO GLOBAL HARMONY ONLY MAKES YOU THE ULTIMATE TERRORIST......
If ANY COUNTRY does not support THE CONCEPT OF LIVING IN HARMONY, then please do not support THAT COUNTRY.
You can believe that religion will make you live in harmony provided YOU UNDERTAND IT WELL ENOUGH FROM A GOOD SOURCE.... KNOWING ANYTHING FROM A MEDIUM THAT DO NOT HAVE CREDIBLE SOURCE SUCH AS YOUTUBE OR BLOGS ONLY MAKES YOU THE AWFUL READER....
You can believe that freedom has its boundary provided you UNDERSTAND THE LAW PROVIDED UPON YOU, AND NOT TO SUPPORT BLINDLY TO HUMAN RIGHT FREEDOM WHEN YOU LOSE YOU STEPS, IN DOING SO ONLY MAKES YOU AN AWFUL CITIZENS....

HOW CAN AN atheist SUPPORT changing faith IF HE OR SHE DOES NOT BELIEVE IN ANY RELIGION???...
A GOOD multi-party political system THAT SUPPORT HARMONY MUST ALWAYS BE SUPPORTED.... ANYONE WHO NEGLECT HARMONY AND PEACE, AND RESULTED TO HARMFUL WAY IN THE NAME OF FREEDOM AND HUMAN RIGHTS MUST BE TREATED AS TERRORIST AND ENEMY....
YOU NEED TO DEFINE THE NEED OR MEANS OF HUMAN RIGHT....In the old days, the fascists and communists were the enemies IF AND ONLY IF THEIR POLITICAL AND IDEOLOGY ARE DIFFERENT AND HOSTILES TO YOURS.
DEAR LEVELHEADED...... Please do try not to make yourself into the enemy. Yes, there are friends and enemies; and there’s not much in between. If you are the friend, then you are not the enemy; and if you are the enemy, then you are not the friend. Please do try not to make yourself into the enemy. MAKING YOURSELF INTO THE ENEMY BY BELIEVING BLINDLY MAY NOT BE THE BEST THING TO DO.... JUSTICE IS BLIND... BUT THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE.....

What is your problem with an atheist supporting changing faith as an inviolable human right? Just because he is an atheist it does not mean that he is opposed to changing faith as an inviolable human right. For example, let us suppose that I am an atheist. If my neighbor wants to change faith, it is his inviolable human right; and as an atheist I should not be opposed to that. Whether my neighbor wants to change faith or not has nothing to do with me. Even an atheist can become religious, and then six months later, become an atheist again; and that also is his inviolable human right. That’s all. It is as simple as that. There are millions of people who have lived their lives without religion. Evolution has universal acceptance among the scientific community.
You are right to state that the truth will set you free. I like the truth. The truth is that we come from monkey.
You can have a deep understanding of your religion if you want to provided you support changing faith as an inviolable human right.
You can be attached to the essence of religion and its effects on the global community provided you support changing faith as an inviolable human right.
